As if that wasn’t enough, in 2019. Lewandoski was indicted by the Department of Justice, on 33 federal charges concerning the theft of trade secrets from Waymo Anthony had pleaded guilty to only one of those charges.
According to Reuters, Levandowski declared himself personal bankruptcy after a $179 million loss to Google in 2020. At that time his estimated assets were $50 million to $100 million, compared to $500 million in liabilities.
In February 2022, Levandowski, negotiated a global settlement, with Google, and Uber. As per this settlement, Levandowski would have to pay between $25M and $30M to Google. But in the next month, the settlement faced an objection from the U.S. Department of Justice and California’s Internal Revenue Service.

After losing his legal battle with Google and Waymo, on August 4, 2020, Anthony was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison as per the US Department of Justice. But he only served 6 months in prison, before he received a presidential pardon in 2021.
